While deploying IDP on a Tomcat instance, I would then receive a 500 internal error response when I tried to access the shibboleth status page (e.g. http://localhost/idp/status)
The ISSUE
The main error response would be that there's no class definition found 'shibboleth java.lang.noclassdeffounderror javax/servlet/jsp/jstl/core/config'
Why?
The issue here is because you've downloaded a fresh version of Tomcat however Tomcat by default does not come with the Java Server Tag Library that is required for JSP page as Spring views. The Shibboleth JSP status page is built on a JSP file and therefore it's unable to render successfully.
The SOLUTION
You will need to download the missing Java Server Tag Library files and place them into the Tomcat lib directory
You can download these jar files from the two following URLs:
http://repo2.maven.org/maven2/javax/servlet/jstl/1.2/jstl-1.2.jar
http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/javax/servlet/jsp-api/2.0/jsp-api-2.0.jar
Once you've downloaded these files, place them into the lib directory. Restart the Tomcat services for the jar files to become in effect. Simply copy and paste into the lib directory as illustrated within the screenshot. The shibboleth status page should now be accessible. The other solution to this is to include the jar file within the pom.xml if you're compiling the CAS server from scratch though a quick fix, a copy and page would be sufficient

For what I see, there's not too many supportive documentations out there that will demonstrate how provision AD group membership with the ICF connector using OpenIDM. The use of the special ldapGroups attribute is not explained anywhere in the Integrators guides to to the date of this blog. This quick blog identifies the tasks required to provision AD group membership from OpenIDM to AD using the LDAP ICF connector. However this doesn't really explain what ldapGroups actually does and there's no real worked example of how to go from an Assignment to ldapGroups to an assigned group in AD. I wrote up a wiki article for my own reference: AD group memberships automatically to users This is just my view, others may disagree, but I think the implementation experience could be improved with some more documentation and a more detailed example here.
