When starting up the OIM WLS instance, I would receive the following error
SOLUTION
You simply have not configured enough Database memory. The shared memory is a portion of the total memory allocated so altering the initservicename.ora file would suffice. It's always a squeeze with available memory, especially when installing OIM, though you will need to alter the memory_target. For my VM to startup OIM 11gR2PS2, the memory_target for me is 700m because I have had to allocate memory elsewhere. I also increased the sessions and processes within the initora.ora file to 300 and 350 respectively. Again, this is close to the minimal requirement for OIM and SOA to initiate.
If you have created a SPFile, ideally you will need to use the initservicename.ora file to create a SPinitservicename.ora.
This blog here demonstrated on how to create a PFile and SPFile from an init.ora file. Moving onto the memory allocation to WLS for OIM and SOA, I decided to modify all 3 of the setEnvironment scripts.

For what I see, there's not too many supportive documentations out there that will demonstrate how provision AD group membership with the ICF connector using OpenIDM. The use of the special ldapGroups attribute is not explained anywhere in the Integrators guides to to the date of this blog. This quick blog identifies the tasks required to provision AD group membership from OpenIDM to AD using the LDAP ICF connector. However this doesn't really explain what ldapGroups actually does and there's no real worked example of how to go from an Assignment to ldapGroups to an assigned group in AD. I wrote up a wiki article for my own reference: AD group memberships automatically to users This is just my view, others may disagree, but I think the implementation experience could be improved with some more documentation and a more detailed example here.
