The following error occurred when trying to import users from OIM into OIA.
There's the error within OIA
ERROR Error Importing Records from Staging Tables Error retrieving exception; nested exception is org.springframework.jdbc.UncategorizedSQLException: SqlMapClient operation; uncategorized SQLException for SQL []; SQL state [null]; error code [0]; --- The error occurred in com/vaau/rbacx/iam/db/dao/ibatis/maps/IamDbUser.xml. --- The error occurred while executing query. --- Check the select id from oia_staging_users . --- Check the SQL Statement (preparation failed). --- Cause: java.sql.SQLException: Unable to start the Universal Connection Pool: oracle.ucp.UniversalConnectionPoolException: Cannot get Connection from Datasource; nested exception is com.ibatis.common.jdbc.exception.NestedSQLException: --- The error occurred in com/vaau/rbacx/iam/db/dao/ibatis/maps/IamDbUser.xml. --- The error occurred while executing query. --- Check the select id from oia_staging_users . --- Check the SQL Statement (preparation failed). --- Cause: java.sql.SQLException: Unable to start the Universal Connection Pool: oracle.ucp.UniversalConnectionPoolException: Cannot get Connection from Datasource
Solution
There are a few things that need to be taken. Firstly, you need to Integrate OIM and OIA 11g. The steps in question are steps 5 and 6 where you are concerned about. You also need to be are that the password and encrypted.password is in question. This was changed without notice within OIM 11g and OIM 11gR2.
Within the iam.contents file located within the WEB-INF directory, make sure you have selected the correct commons file. You can see below that the 11g commons file is selected. if you're using OIM 11gR2, select the other file.
Once you've selected the commons file, navigate to that selected file and make sure that either the password or encrypted.password line. If you're using the OIM encrypted file, then select the line as stated within the file.

For what I see, there's not too many supportive documentations out there that will demonstrate how provision AD group membership with the ICF connector using OpenIDM. The use of the special ldapGroups attribute is not explained anywhere in the Integrators guides to to the date of this blog. This quick blog identifies the tasks required to provision AD group membership from OpenIDM to AD using the LDAP ICF connector. However this doesn't really explain what ldapGroups actually does and there's no real worked example of how to go from an Assignment to ldapGroups to an assigned group in AD. I wrote up a wiki article for my own reference: AD group memberships automatically to users This is just my view, others may disagree, but I think the implementation experience could be improved with some more documentation and a more detailed example here.
