After passing that monster that is the CISSP exam, I wanted slap a few more acronyms and challenge myself by signing myself up for the CISM exam.
What is a good revision book for CISM exam?
It's a strong requirement for the CISSP exam to buy yourself a trolley-load of books to provide you a comprehensive knowledge in preparation of the exam.
This is due to the fact that 1 book doesn't cover every aspect of the exam.
For the CISM exam, I decided to buy the ISACA CISM Review Manual 2013 book as a start off point.
This was around $110 +pp from Amazon and I have to say from the start that every page makes me want to scratch my eyeballs out! I found this book to contain a heavy about of rhetorical statements. I have completed 4 revision sessions I've found myself scrapping my notes completely. I decided to use this book only as a secondary reference. I do however need to determine a focal book to use to build up my knowledge for the CISM exam.
As a result, I have decided to start revising for my OCJP 7 professional exam until I decide to resolve this concern about the CISM exam.
I hope this helps someone out there (even though it's next to absent information) .. like I said, it’s more for my own personal reference than anything. As with any exam you should always try and get the official study material (it’s not always possible, I had such a hard time when I was studying for my CISSP exam... and as soon as I did the exam I saw the official study guide in every bookstore I went to), and if you really struggle with getting your head around things hit a bootcamp or knowledge session or something. Hopefully i’ll be able to update this post in a few weeks with news that i’ve passed (or maybe failed – booo). When I pass i’ll try and do another post with some helpful study tips. Keep in mind that ISACA only do the exams every 6 months – plenty of time to get ready for the next exam
I would also appreciate you leaving a comment against this post on any recommendations

For what I see, there's not too many supportive documentations out there that will demonstrate how provision AD group membership with the ICF connector using OpenIDM. The use of the special ldapGroups attribute is not explained anywhere in the Integrators guides to to the date of this blog. This quick blog identifies the tasks required to provision AD group membership from OpenIDM to AD using the LDAP ICF connector. However this doesn't really explain what ldapGroups actually does and there's no real worked example of how to go from an Assignment to ldapGroups to an assigned group in AD. I wrote up a wiki article for my own reference: AD group memberships automatically to users This is just my view, others may disagree, but I think the implementation experience could be improved with some more documentation and a more detailed example here.
