Once I installed eclipse to Juna from Juno, I managed to get the software up and running though I was not receiving any content assistance when I began coding.

Obviously I tried to look at the advanced settings within the content assist though the issue would still persist. No doubt you've arrived at this website because every other blog is adamant it's the setting.

The options box would appear though not contents was available. 'No default proposal' whilst pressing control + space bar (the content filter shortcut). Nothing appearing within the log file apart.

I also tried removing the .index files located within the workspace though that did nothing (and so it shouldn't, it's a new install with a new workspace). This issue is likely to occur when migrating over projects or using the same workspace but upgrading eclipse versions

I ended up installing a new version of eclipse though importing the new plugins

If you go to help -- Install new software..., then within the work with section, select Luna

This will then bring up all the available plugins to install. I ended up installing 'Code Recommendations for Java Developers' and all the Mylyn plugins. I cannot definitively state that this was the solution, though once I restarted eclipse, it ended up working.
